Job Title: US Government Affairs Leader

At Terumo Blood and Cell Technologies, we are seeking a highly skilled US Government Affairs Leader to join our team. This role will be responsible for supporting the development and execution of our government affairs strategy within North America.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a coherent government affairs strategy for North America, aligned with Terumo BCT's business objectives.
  • Manage and execute specific government affairs projects in collaboration with other functions to ensure alignment with regional business priorities.
  • Provide analysis and recommendations on government policies affecting Terumo BCT's operations. Engage with key stakeholders to represent the company's interests.
  • Develop and maintain a detailed map of key policy stakeholders, including government officials, industry influencers, and key opinion leaders.
  • Design and implement tailored engagement strategies to effectively communicate Terumo BCT's positions and priorities.
  • Anticipate and identify potential policy or regulatory issues that could impact the business. Develop and implement proactive strategies to mitigate risks and manage emerging issues.
  • Work closely with relevant internal teams to ensure integration of government affairs activities into broader business strategies and operations.
  • Develop and track metrics to measure the success of government affairs initiatives. Provide regular updates and reports to leadership, demonstrating the impact and value of government affairs activities.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in government affairs, public policy, or a related field, preferably within the pharmaceutical, medical technology, or healthcare industry.
  • Proven experience in government advocacy, public affairs, or lobbying, with a solid understanding of government policy, reimbursement and regulatory processes in North America.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage with internal and external stakeholders.
  • High ethical standards and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
