We are seeking a skilled Cancer Data Specialist to join our team at St. Luke's Health System. In this role, you will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and reporting on cancer data to support research, healthcare providers, and public health officials.

As a Cancer Data Specialist, you will:

  • Collect and analyze cancer data from electronic medical records
  • Determine patient cancer case eligibility
  • Conduct quality assurance audits to ensure data collection complies with Federal and/or State government reporting mandates
  • Abstract eligible cancer cases into the cancer registry database
  • Assess and abstract real-time data outlined by the reporting system performance measures established by the National Cancer Data Base
  • Obtain, analyze, and implement required patient follow-up information into the cancer registry's database
  • Create, analyze, report, and present Cancer Registry data in the form of statistical reports, cancer studies, and data requests delegated by physicians and/or administration
  • Conduct and review abstract quality audits of required data elements as outlined by the data
