South Central Health System is seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technician/Microbiologist to join our team. As a key member of our laboratory staff, you will be responsible for performing various chemical, microscopic, and bacteriologic tests in a prompt and accurate manner.
Key Responsibilities- General Laboratory Functions: Coordinate and perform laboratory tests, evaluate reports, and review sample data for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease.
- Microbiology Functions: Perform micro set ups and stains, isolate, read, and report all microbiology testing, interpret and perform proper susceptibility testing and identification.
- Quality Control and Assurance: Execute and document quality control program and proficiency testing with interpretations.
- Training and Development: Orient and instruct new employees and MLT students in policies, procedures, and practices.
- Communication and Collaboration: Utilize hospital computer system for order communication functions, coordinate activities efficiently, and participate in continuing education programs and special projects.
- Graduate MT, CLS, CLT, or MLT and/or Certified or Associate Degree in CLT or MLT.
- Trained in Microbiology.
