Nurse Practitioner MSN

To provide high-quality patient care, assess, treat, and solve problems, counsel, educate, and refer patients seen for primary or acute care in the clinic/related department, utilizing advanced assessment and evaluation techniques.
Responsibilities
• Conduct comprehensive health assessments and develop individualized care plans to address the unique needs of patients.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to plan, implement, and evaluate therapeutic regimens for patients.
• Educate patients and their families on current health care status, signs and symptoms of illness, and healthy lifestyle choices.
• Perform clinical and therapeutic procedures, including history and physical examinations, and record data accurately.
• Assume a leadership role in developing nursing care policies and procedures for the unit, and participate in quality improvement activities.
• Identify normal and abnormal findings, and consult as needed with physicians to determine the plan of treatment.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Patient Group Knowledge (Only applies to positions with direct patient contact)The employee must possess/obtain (by the end of the orientation period) and demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide developmentally appropriate assessment, treatment or care as defined by the department's identified patient ages. Specifically the employee must be able to demonstrate competency in: 1) ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of patient needs; 2) knowledge of growth and development; and 3) understanding of the range of treatment needed by the patients.

• Master's Degree (Required)
Credentials
• Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (Required)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Required) Within 1 year of hire
• Basic Life Support (Required) Within 30 days of hire
