Role Summary
The role of the Desktop Support Technician encompasses a vital dual function aimed at the support and maintenance of internal computer systems, desktops, and peripheral devices, while delivering tier 1 to tier 3 assistance for the Support Center. Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to: installation, diagnosis, repair, maintenance, and enhancement of all desktop and workshop hardware, software, operating systems, and equipment to ensure optimal workstation functionality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain desktop software application configurations in alignment with organizational standards.
- Oversee an inventory of all software installed on desktop and laptop systems.
- Ensure compliance with all software licensing regulations.
- Provide tier 1 support as a Support Center associate to troubleshoot issues (in-person, via telephone, remote connection, or email) promptly and accurately.
- Assist end users with various technical inquiries as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience of 3+ years.
- Hands-on experience in hardware troubleshooting.
- Proficient technical knowledge of desktop hardware, components, peripherals, and operating systems including Microsoft Windows, Linux, and thin clients.
- Familiarity with system imaging, Microsoft Office applications, and other business software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to conduct research on job-related issues and products.
- Capable of working effectively with diverse groups and managing confidential information appropriately.
- Skilled in presenting ideas in an accessible manner.
- Adept at multitasking and managing competing priorities.
