About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at 99 Healthcare Management. As a key member of our cardiology practice, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care using state-of-the-art nuclear medicine techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals and pharmacologic stress agents under the supervision of a physician and according to manufacturer guidelines.
  • Ensure accurate dosage and proper handling of radioactive materials.
  • Explain procedures to patients and address any questions or concerns.
  • Monitor patients during imaging to ensure safety and comfort.
  • Assist patients before, during, and after procedures as needed.
  • Operate nuclear medicine imaging equipment to perform cardiac scans.
  • Position patients and adjust equipment to obtain optimal images.
  • Ensure high-quality imaging results for accurate diagnosis.
  • Perform computer acquisition and processing of complex nuclear data and images for interpretation by nuclear cardiologists.
  • Follow established protocols and safety procedures for handling and disposing of radioactive materials.
  • Perform regular quality control checks on imaging equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of procedures, patient information, and radiopharmaceutical usage.
  • Work closely with cardiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing clear instructions and support.
  • Stay updated on regulations and best practices related to nuclear medicine and radiopharmaceuticals.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as institutional policies.
  • Able to serve as a preceptor by providing quality training to new team members and on new services and initiatives.
  • Able to administer first aid and use an emergency cart.
  • Responsible for inventory management, ordering supplies, and maintaining appropriate levels of clinical supplies required for performing exams.
  • Load, transport, and unload mobile nuclear cameras and/or other equipment in a designated company vehicle between practice locations as needed.

Requirements:

  • Must have basic knowledge of EKG to perform cardiac studies.
  • Must be able to administer intramuscular and intravenous injections and start intravenous lines.
  • Graduate from an accredited program in Radiologic Technology.
  • Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMTCB), or Registered Radiographer (ARRT – N).
  • Obtain a Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) license from the Texas Department of State Health Services.
  • ACLS and BLS certification.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Ability to perform Nuclear Medicine procedures without supervision.
  • Must have the knowledge to make quick and highly technical decisions in order to accommodate physical restrictions and pathology.
  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills are essential.

Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 8:30 am-5 pm and Friday 8:30 am - 3 pm. No weekends or after hours.
