Job Summary

The Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst is responsible for ensuring the developed solution meets the business requirements, is free of defects, and the quality of the product/application is achieved. The QA Analyst works independently to identify and define the required tests as well as capture detailed testing progress, defects, and results during each testing cycle and evaluates the overall usability of the IT solution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in requirement meetings and functional design document review meetings to understand the requirements and author test cases for the project.
  • Work closely with business analysts and business stakeholders to clarify requirements.
  • Prepare the project test plan and test closure according to standard templates and adhere to DTMB and MDOT policies, standards, and guidelines.
  • Learn new tools identified for use on a project.
  • Prepare Test Scenarios (project-based).
  • Prepare test data and ensure the QA environment is ready for test case execution, including interfaces.
  • Prepare and execute test cases and maintain user story traceability against the user stories/requirements.
  • Responsible for defect management, including identification of QAT defects and remediation tracking by maintaining traceability to user story.
  • Prepare and ensure Sprint Sign off after each sprint or as required and obtain sign off from product owners.
  • Work with UX/UI Designer of the project to assist in adding defects or raising defects in their absence.
  • Work closely with QA Specialist on complex projects and on unique deliverables for the project(s).
  • Adhere to all QA processes and procedures.
  • Ensure all QA responsible SEM documents identified for the project are completed, reviewed, and approved in alignment with area processes.
Requirements
  • Experience performing quality assurance and software testing with a thorough understanding of testing concepts and methods in manual and automation.
  • Testing experience in the implementation of Agile and Waterfall development projects.
  • Experience writing and documenting test cases in DevOps or other Agile tools.
  • Experience testing Java-based applications and Oracle database.
  • Experience developing Agile testing strategies and test plans for multiple related projects.
  • Experience with reviewing, understanding, and translating Agile User Stories to prepare test cases/scripts.
  • Experience working independently and in a team environment.
  • Experience writing test scripts with automation tools.
  • Experience coordinating the Agile automated testing with the QA and development teams.
  • Experience in coding with Java to write test automation scripts with Selenium.
