Position Summary:

The Personal Care Aide offers companionship and support to individuals requiring assistance with daily activities, ensuring a safe, clean, and orderly living environment. This role involves providing non-medical in-home services aimed at enhancing clients' comfort and safety.

Qualifications:

A high school diploma or GED is preferred. Candidates must complete any mandated training requirements satisfactorily.

Successful completion of Comfort Keepers training and orientation is essential. The candidate should be committed to learning and adhering to company policies and procedures, working independently in clients' homes, and maintaining positive relationships with administrative staff, clients, and their families. A genuine desire to assist others and a strong sense of integrity are crucial.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute tasks as outlined in the care plan.
  • Assist clients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
  • Ensure a clean, safe, and healthy environment for clients and their families.
  • Perform light housekeeping duties, including laundry and changing linens.
  • Assist with meal preparation, grocery shopping, and kitchen cleanup.
  • Remind clients to take prescribed medications.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication and professional relationships with clients, families, and colleagues.
  • Uphold confidentiality regarding client information.
  • Carry out other related duties as assigned.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and document services provided.
  • Clear communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including active listening and engagement.
  • Proactive in seeking ways to assist others.

Work Environment:

Work is primarily conducted in clients' homes and may involve travel.

Physical Demands:

This position requires moderate physical activity, including driving, assisting clients with mobility, and performing light housekeeping tasks. Regular activities include standing, sitting, walking, talking, hearing, seeing, reaching, kneeling, and crouching. Lifting may be required, up to 25 pounds.
