Admissions Counselor Job Description

Riverview Behavioral Health, a division of Acadia Healthcare, is seeking a skilled Admissions Counselor to facilitate admissions, clinical intake assessments, and utilization review processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate intake, admission, and utilization review processes for incoming patients.
  • Perform insurance benefit verifications and disseminate information to patients, families, and internal staff.
  • Provide accurate and ongoing assessments of patient status, including physical, emotional, social, spiritual, and financial needs.
  • Implement crisis intervention and referral as needed.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Therapeutic Counseling, Behavioral Science, Social Work, or related field.
  • Experience in managed care pre-certification, level of care assessments, and utilization.
  • Current licensure as required for the area of clinical specialty.
  • CPR, de-escalation, and restraint certification required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Intermediate communication skills.
  • Intermediate attention to detail.
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Dedicated and motivated individual.
