Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Child Protective Services Worker to join our team at the State of Oregon. As a key member of our Child Welfare team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of Oregon's most vulnerable children and families.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough assessments and investigations to identify potential risks and threats to child safety, utilizing a trauma-informed and antiracist approach.
  • Develop and implement effective case plans to support families and children, balancing the needs of both while adhering to legal requirements.
  • Communicate complex information to diverse populations, both verbally and in writing, ensuring clear understanding and effective collaboration.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to share knowledge, resources, and best practices, promoting a culture of equity and inclusion.
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant laws, policies, and procedures, applying this knowledge to inform decision-making and ensure compliance.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Services or a related field, or equivalent experience and training.
  • Proven experience in conducting interviews, investigations, and assessments, with a focus on trauma-informed and antiracist practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
