Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Child Protective Services Worker to join our team at the State of Oregon. As a key member of our Child Welfare team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of Oregon's most vulnerable children and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough and equitable assessments of child safety and risk, utilizing a trauma-informed lens to inform decision-making.
  • Develop and implement effective case plans to support families in achieving safety and stability.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including law enforcement, healthcare providers, and community agencies, to ensure comprehensive support for children and families.
  • Provide education and support to families on child safety, parenting, and trauma-informed care.
  • Document and maintain accurate and timely records of case activities and outcomes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Services or a related field, or equivalent experience and training.
  • One year of experience in human services, including conducting assessments, developing case plans, and providing support to families.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a high level of autonomy and accountability.
  • Knowledge of child welfare policies, procedures, and best practices, with a commitment to equity and cultural responsiveness.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Human Services or a related field.
  • Experience working with diverse populations, including children and families from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care and its application in child welfare settings.
  • Experience with case management software and other technology systems.
