Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Housekeeper - EVS - FT - Evenings to join our team at MercyOne Dubuque/Dyersville Medical Center. As a key member of our Environmental Services team, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment within our facility by following routine cleaning procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for cleaning patient and non-patient areas of the hospital, including surface cleaning, floor care, carpet cleaning, and moving equipment and furniture.
  • Provide cleaning services for patient rooms, offices, and ancillary areas, adhering to hospital standards and procedures.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service by promptly welcoming patients, families, and staff, and responding to their needs in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure a smooth and efficient cleaning process, and participate in department meetings and training sessions to stay up-to-date on best practices and procedures.
  • Report any safety hazards or concerns to the supervisor or manager, and participate in quality control audits to ensure compliance with hospital standards.
Requirements
  • Previous janitorial and cleaning experience preferred, with some experience in hospital standards, methods, and procedures desirable but not mandatory.
  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy equipment and supplies, and to stand for long periods of time.
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment, and ability to follow safety protocols and procedures.
