Maintenance Technician Job Description

Kohner Properties is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the physical integrity of our communities, providing a safe, secure, and comfortable living environment for residents, visitors, and staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct routine preventive maintenance on all equipment as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor or Manager.
  • Perform minor and routine maintenance/repair tasks, including electrical and plumbing work, HVAC system maintenance, and appliance repair.
  • Inspect and report on the condition of apartment property, identifying and addressing any vandalism, property damage, or unsafe conditions.
  • Document all work performed on a daily basis according to company work order policy.
  • Assist in keeping grounds neat and free of litter, and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • One year certificate from college or technical school, or three to six years related experience and/or training.
  • Valid driver's license, dependable transportation, and automobile insurance required.
Competencies:
  • Problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Technical skills, with knowledge of maintenance and repair procedures, and the ability to use various tools and equipment.
  • Written communication skills, with the ability to read and interpret written information and diagrams.
