Key Responsibilities:

As a technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the operational readiness of the AN/SPY-1 Radar systems to support modernization efforts across various assignments.

This role involves collaboration with the AN/SPY-1 Radar Systems Engineer, focusing primarily on signal processing and antenna systems, while also encompassing transmitter equipment.

You will play a crucial role in diagnosing, isolating, and rectifying issues related to the SPY-1 systems.

To excel in this position, you will need to:

  • Activate and configure AN/SPY Radar systems to ensure they are fully operational for testing.
  • Identify and address discrepancies in equipment and documentation.
  • Execute the Planned Maintenance System (PMS) for AN/SPY-1 Radar in preparation for assessments.
  • Assist in the collection and analysis of performance data during testing, as well as resolving logistical challenges.
  • Provide training and support to crew members on the operation and maintenance of AN/SPY-1 Radar systems.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
  • Experience in electronic repair within a field environment.
  • Familiarity with testing equipment such as multi-meters, oscilloscopes, and analyzers for troubleshooting operational failures.
  • Ability to perform fault detection and isolation procedures for AN/SPY-1 radar systems.
  • Capability to conduct training for crew members on system operation and maintenance.
  • Willingness to work on naval vessels, including in-port and underway, with tasks that may require climbing and working in confined spaces.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with UNIX-based systems and understanding of local area network (LAN) concepts.
  • Familiarity with AEGIS baselines and the AN/SPY-1 Multi Mission Signal Processor.
  • Knowledge of Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) Signal Processor systems.
  • Understanding of troubleshooting and maintaining equipment within the Aegis Weapon System, including display systems and processing architectures.

Security Clearance:
This position necessitates a government security clearance, and candidates must be U.S. citizens.

Work Environment:
The work associated with this role will be conducted onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
