Job Summary

The Parts Consultant plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the parts department at MarineMax. This position requires a professional and knowledgeable individual to provide support to the Parts Manager and parts staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Serve internal or external customers in a professional and knowledgeable manner.
  • Inventory Management: Perform stocking, issuing, receiving, and inventory control functions, including cycle counts.
  • Material Handling: Sort and place materials and parts on racks, shelves, or in bins.
  • Inventory Entry: Enter parts inventory information through the use of IDS.
  • Order Processing: Complete order forms and place orders with vendors and manufacturers as directed by the Parts Manager.
  • Production and Shipping: Read production schedules, customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved or distributed.
  • Vendor Relationships: Maintain good working relationships with factory and vendors as they relate to product and quality control.
  • Special Orders: Place orders for special order parts as required.
  • Inventory Updates: Inform technicians and customers of the arrival of special order parts.
  • Invoice Verification: Carefully check invoices against work orders.
  • Catalog Maintenance: Keep parts catalogs up to date.
Key Performance Indicators
  • Internal/External Customer Satisfaction: Meet customer expectations and provide excellent service.
  • Accurate Paperwork and Parts Files: Maintain accurate and up-to-date paperwork and parts files.
  • Effective Communication: Communicate effectively with internal and external customers about products.
  • Inventory Maintenance: Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory levels.
  • Turnaround Time: Ensure timely completion of service work by maintaining adequate inventory and turnaround time of ordering.
  • Catalog Updates: Keep parts catalogs and brochures up to date.
