Key Responsibilities- Provide leadership and supervision to the production team, coordinating workloads and ensuring that production targets are met.
- Monitor and address any issues that may arise during production, ensuring that quality standards and safety protocols are maintained.
- Assist the Production Supervisor with daily activities, ensuring that product quality and safety standards are met.
- Communicate with previous shift regarding any challenges and opportunities on the production lines to prepare for the shift.
- Conduct walkthroughs throughout the shift to verify safety, housekeeping, and quality compliance.
- Assist production department key roles to prepare production lines for scheduled changeovers.
- Order and inspect raw materials prior to changeovers to ensure correct inventories for production runs.
- Perform first pass quality checks after changeovers to prevent non-conforming product.
- Support Production Supervisor end of shift production reports.
- Record and communicate downtime to the supervisor.
- Assist in the training and development of the team and individual goals, objectives, operational standards, and expectations for Safety, Quality, and Productivity.
- Build collaborative partnerships within departmental lines to achieve departmental and team results.
- Assume personal responsibility to ensure a safe and healthy workplace for everyone.
- Previous forklift and/or pallet jack experience desired.
- Associate's degree (AA) or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
- Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, etc.)
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups, customers/vendors, or employees of the organization.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram or schedule form.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team building skills.
- Able to direct, train, and motivate department personnel.
- Ability to recognize problem situations, investigate, and take appropriate steps to resolve.
- Ability to work in cold, wet, noisy, dusty, and humid environments.
- Demonstrates the ability to maintain positive interpersonal relationships and work effectively with others to complete work assignments.
- Able to work independently or with others in a team environment depending upon the assignment.
- Self-motivated while also willing to ask questions and seek direction.

- Ability to obtain and maintain a forklift and pallet jack license.
