Job Summary
The Product Engineer will play a crucial role in supporting the Sales department with both technical and non-technical activities. This individual will specialize in understanding the technical and manufacturing aspects of our products and be able to effectively communicate them to potential customers. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
* Evaluate customer requests for quotes (RFQs) to determine manufacturing feasibility and develop costing to manufacture a product
* Assist sales, manufacturing, and quality teams in understanding customer demands and provide technical information to the customer service team
* Establish strong relationships with customers and perform outbound customer prospecting and quotation follow-ups to close sales
* Review sales metrics and provide analytical data as needed to inform business decisions
* Respond to technical inquiries and provide support via phone and email
* Work experience in an ERP system and proficiency in computer skills, Windows environment, and Microsoft office programs are required
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent mechanical machine shop experience
* Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus
* Strong communication and presentation skills, analytical thinking, and knowledge of manufacturing processes are essential
* Proficiency in SolidWorks and CNC Screw Turning machinery is a plus
* Ability to read, understand, and interpret engineering drawings and learn about basic raw materials and their properties
* Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and set priorities
* Must be a team player able to interact with all departments in the company
