Job Title: Program Coordinator III

Join the North Carolina Department of the Secretary of State as a Program Coordinator III and play a critical role in promoting economic growth and protecting the public from financial harm. As a supervisor in the Administration Division, Cash Management Intake Unit, you will oversee a team of employees and be responsible for exercising strong leadership to inspire and motivate the team towards achieving departmental and organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor, develop, and adjust work plans and schedules for staff to ensure optimal performance.
  • Provide accurate, concise, and timely information to the general public in a friendly manner.
  • Manage issues with customers and other divisions as they arise and resolve them in a timely and professional manner.
  • Ensure that the Cash Management section is knowledgeable of and complies with State and Federal rules and regulations pertaining to cash management.
  • Ensure that internal controls are in place and that documents are properly entered into the Department's internal knowledge base system (SOSKB).
  • Maintain the physical security of cash, checks, and money orders coming in to the unit.
  • Collaborate with and backup the mailroom supervisor as needed.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree from an appropriately accredited institution.
  • Two (2) years of experience related to the area of assignment, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Considerable knowledge of office procedures, practices, and equipment.
  • Considerable knowledge of handling money and supporting documents.
  • Working knowledge of the principles and practices of public administration and business administration.
  • Some knowledge of personnel policies and practices.
  • Some knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with managing cash and documentation within the government or higher education arena.
  • Experience with managing a complex and fast-paced customer service-based function with a significant number of compliance type requirements.
  • Experience managing a staff.
