About the Role

This position supports advanced engineering research, development, and production activities at a leading aerospace facility. As a mechanical drafter, you will work closely with design engineers to prepare detailed drawings of complex mechanical systems. A high degree of precision and attention to detail is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Converting 3D CAD models to 2D drawings for mechanical components, circuit card assemblies, and cable harnesses.
  • Interpreting drawing data and ensuring drawings include sufficient information for manufacture, assembly, and inspection.
  • Updating drawings to incorporate engineering change orders and notices.
  • Providing advice and guidance to junior drafters and coordinating large-scale drafting projects.

Requirements

  • Minimum six years of drafting experience.
  • Knowledge of ASME Y14 drafting standards.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and 3D modeling software such as SolidWorks, CREO ProE, or Inventor.
  • Experience developing drawings for aircraft-related applications.
  • Familiarity with electrical schematics and configuration management processes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Inventor 3D modeling software and Vault configuration management software.
  • Experience with OrCAD and configuration management processes.
