Position Overview

The IT Business Consultant will be an integral member of the Infrastructure & Operations division within the Information Technology (IT) department at RiverPoint. This role is focused on evaluating IT systems, recognizing and documenting requirements from both business and IT stakeholders, and guiding the development teams' daily operations through Agile methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, translating complex concepts into clear language for both audiences.
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of the technical systems utilized by your team and the processes of your business stakeholders.
  • Gather user and technical requirements for new projects and ad hoc requests from various internal business units.
  • Document requirements and technical specifications with well-defined user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Assess the scope of requests and identify potential development iterations to maximize client value.
  • Prioritize and organize the backlog while considering dependencies related to the project roadmap.
  • Facilitate essential Agile team ceremonies, including standups, refinement sessions, planning meetings, and retrospectives.
  • Evaluate and track the efficiency and velocity of the development team's processes.
  • Communicate project progress to stakeholders and other IT personnel.
  • Ensure projects remain aligned with deliverable commitments, occasionally conducting trade-off analyses to inform product decisions.
  • Coordinate technical implementation, testing, training, and communication efforts across various internal business and IT teams, as well as with external vendors.
  • Act as a representative for the product and the primary contact for product-related inquiries.
  • Utilize critical thinking skills to quickly and effectively resolve issues.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in technical business analysis.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication abilities.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and practices.
  • Understanding of technical terminology, with a preference for experience in Cloud and Infrastructure projects.
  • Strong facilitation skills for meetings and stakeholder workshops.
  • Project management experience is preferred.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps or similar Agile software is a plus.
