Neos Consulting is seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Documentation Specialist to join our team in Austin, TX.

This is a long-term contract opportunity that requires occasional travel onsite for meetings.

The successful candidate will work closely with our staff to develop comprehensive technical product documentation for end-users of the Texas Air Emissions Repository (TexAER) database.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, outline, format, and produce detailed program and end-user documentation, including user guides, troubleshooting manuals, tutorials, and reference materials.
  • Create documentation that includes appropriate visualizations to support the content.
  • Collaborate with staff to gather feedback on draft documents and incorporate user-requested changes as directed by the supervisor.
  • Produce video tutorials that meet Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), Department of Information Resources (DIR), and World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) standards.
  • Communicate effectively and work collaboratively in a team environment, engaging with individuals of all technical levels.
  • Provide technical support and assist in testing as required.
Requirements
  • 8+ years of experience with web page user interface design and developing end-user documents for complex relational database applications.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to interact with people at all technical levels.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years of knowledge regarding the limitations and capabilities of computer systems and their integration with end-user business processes.
  • Experience preparing technical documents for technical and non-technical audiences, ranging in complexity.
  • Skills in analyzing and interpreting data.
