Master Diesel Equipment Technician

The Senior Fleet Mechanic plays a critical role in maintaining the efficiency and safety of US Foods, Inc.'s diesel equipment fleet.
About the RoleThis position is responsible for troubleshooting and repairing complex diesel equipment issues, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and company standards. The successful candidate will possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as experience working with heavy-duty commercial diesel engines.
Responsibilities- Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment problems using technical manuals and diagnostic software.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements.
- Document all repair activities, including parts used and labor hours worked.
- Manage inventory levels and order necessary supplies to maintain optimal stock levels.
- Provide exceptional customer service by responding promptly to road calls and resolving equipment issues efficiently.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
- At least 7 years of hands-on experience with heavy-duty diesel equipment, preferably with a Class A CDL license.
- Proven track record of maintaining accurate records and meeting deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- A competitive salary range of $22-$38 per hour, based on relevant experience and qualifications.
