Job Overview

A prominent firm specializing in screen printing and promotional merchandise is seeking a talented Production Artist. We welcome candidates with experience in color separation, while also considering entry-level graphic designers for training opportunities. The primary focus of this role is to create color separations for all submitted artwork intended for screen printing, especially during high-demand periods. In quieter times, the role will shift towards internal tasks, training, organizational responsibilities, and/or art development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Expertise in Vector Separations: Specialize in preparing artwork for screen printing.
  • Artwork Preparation: Ensure all artwork is ready for production.
  • Licensing Checks: Verify jobs for necessary licensing approvals prior to production.
  • Artwork Revisions: Modify artwork to meet screen printing standards.
  • Database Management: Organize and archive artwork efficiently.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with production coordinators to ensure smooth operations.
  • Problem Solving: Address and resolve any issues that arise during the production process.
  • Color Correction: Maintain a keen eye for color accuracy.
  • Proofreading: Review all artwork for quality assurance.
  • Liaison Role: Act as a bridge between the art and production teams.
Qualifications:
  • Software Proficiency: Must be skilled in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Experience: A minimum of one year in print production is preferred.
  • Attention to Detail: Must be detail-oriented and organized.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication abilities are essential.
  • Adaptability: Capable of managing daily interruptions and working efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Educational Background:
  • A four-year degree in Graphic Design or a two-year degree with two years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in screen printing is advantageous.
