Position Overview:
The Patient Care Technician (PCT) delivers fundamental support to patients by aiding professional healthcare providers in addressing the identified needs of individuals in care.
Engages in various patient support tasks and offers related non-professional services as necessary to fulfill the personal and comfort requirements of patients.
Ensures a clean, safe, and orderly environment. Operates under the guidance of a registered nurse. Executes job responsibilities in alignment with healthcare policies, care standards, and established procedures.Maintains the supply of case carts between departments. Transports laboratory specimens and performs additional errands as required. Assists in the sanitation and stocking of operating rooms and equipment. Aids in patient transportation. Functions under the supervision of a registered nurse. Executes job responsibilities in accordance with healthcare policies, care standards, and established procedures.
This role is eligible for participation in the THRIVE program, which offers educational resources and a Workforce Coach to assist employees during their initial year of service.
Key Responsibilities:
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent
Completion of an accredited nursing assistant training program is preferred
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Prior experience as a Nurse Assistant is preferred
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (TECHNICAL/PHYSICAL)
Good mental and physical health. Responsibilities include balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, handling, feeling, communicating, listening, repetitive motions, and engaging in physically demanding tasks, along with the ability to manage stress effectively.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Subject to indoor environmental conditions. Must be adaptable regarding assigned hours to meet staffing needs.
