Business Operations Specialist

Amazon is seeking a skilled professional to lead the development and execution of innovative solutions and programs that drive improvements in our last mile delivery network.

This position will be responsible for designing and implementing new worldwide transportation initiatives to enhance overall efficiency and meet the growing demand for last mile capacity.

The ideal candidate will possess strong data mining and modeling skills, as well as the ability to facilitate ideas and work from concept to execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Retrieving and analyzing data using Excel, SQL, Access, and other data management systems.
  • Monitoring existing metrics, analyzing data, and partnering with internal teams to identify process and system improvement opportunities.
  • Designing and implementing reporting solutions to enable stakeholders to manage the business and make effective decisions.
  • Supporting cross-functional teams on the day-to-day execution of existing program implementation.
  • Driving small to medium operational enhancement projects.
  • Researching and implementing cost reduction opportunities.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in tax, finance, or a related analytical field.
  • 3+ years of experience with Excel (including VBA, pivot tables, array functions, power pivots, etc.) and data visualization tools such as Tableau.
  • 3+ years of business or financial analysis experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights.
  • Experience making business recommendations and influencing stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience partnering with executive-level leaders to identify and solve business issues.
  • 5+ years of experience with Excel (including VBA, pivot tables, array functions, power pivots, etc.) and data visualization tools such as Tableau.
  • Experience in using scripting languages such as Python and R.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $66,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $143,100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
