Description

Overview

Heavy Vehicle Operators are tasked with the safe operation of fully-loaded tractor-trailer units, ensuring timely delivery of goods to clients while adhering to safety protocols. These professionals handle various types of vehicles, including automatic transmissions and brands such as International, Freightliner, Kenworth, and Mack, utilizing day cabs and 45, 48, or 53-foot refrigerated trailers for transporting products. Operators enjoy a guaranteed 40-hour work week and return home each night.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  1. Departing from the distribution center on a scheduled route with a manifest that includes the operator's name and a list of delivery and pickup locations.
  2. Confirming the seal number with an authorized representative at the destination and, upon unloading, addressing any discrepancies such as shortages, mislabels, or returns.
  3. Managing the unloading and documentation of returned items upon returning to the distribution center.
  4. Performing additional tasks as directed by the supervisor.

Compensation

Starting Pay Rate: $21.00 per hour

After Six Months: $21.50 per hour

Sign-On Bonus: $1,000 (split into $500 at hire and $500 after six months)

Qualifications

Applicants must meet DOT standards, possess a minimum of 6 months of recent, verifiable experience driving tractor-trailers, hold a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL), and maintain a valid Medical Qualification Card. Candidates should be capable of regularly lifting and moving items weighing between 40-60 pounds, with occasional lifting of up to 100 pounds. Weekend and holiday work may be required.
