About the Role

Sierra Space Corporation is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Industrial Engineering Intern to join our dynamic team. The intern will support various projects and initiatives aimed at improving efficiency, productivity, and quality within our manufacturing and operational processes.

This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in industrial engineering and work alongside experienced professionals in the aerospace industry. The intern will have the unique experience of getting both mentoring and coaching while working side by side with recognized industry experts on real-world assignments directly related to their field of study.

The intern will assist in process improvement projects, gather data from production processes, equipment, and workers to analyze current operational performance, and use basic statistical tools to identify trends and areas for improvement. They will also provide assistance in various tasks assigned by senior engineers, including preparing reports, creating diagrams, and organizing project files.

About You

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university
  • At least one academic term remaining after the completion of the internship
  • Familiarity with manufacturing operations
  • Strong skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative team environment
  • Strong organization skills and work ethic; detail oriented

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Pursuing an engineering degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD for design and drafting tasks
  • Familiarity with Visual Basic
  • Experience with Power BI for basic data visualization and report creation

Compensation:

The intern will be paid $30.80 per hour, with the possibility of a full-time position upon graduation. Sierra Space Corporation offers a generous benefit package, including medical, dental, and vision plans, 401(k) with 150% match up to 8%, life insurance, 3 weeks paid time off, tuition reimbursement, and more.
