We are seeking a highly skilled Non-Destructive Test Specialist to join our team at Northrop Grumman. As a key member of our Quality department, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of quality in our products.
Key Responsibilities- Review and interpret technical instructions and specifications to ensure compliance with company standards.
- Operate and maintain ultrasonic inspection equipment, including setup, calibration, and process control checks.
- Conduct thorough inspections of parts to evaluate for processing discontinuities and ensure conformance to specifications.
- Interpret and report evaluation results, including documentation of findings and recommendations for improvement.
- Provide on-the-job training and guidance to junior technicians and other team members.
- Collaborate with senior technicians and engineers to develop and implement new test techniques and procedures.
- High school diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of 6 years of experience in ultrasonic inspection and testing.
- Level 2 certification in ultrasonics (NAS410) and ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret Clearance and Special Program Access.
- Experience with automated ultrasonic inspection systems and multiple brands of flaw detectors.
- Knowledge of composite materials and ability to interpret flaws in these materials.
- Certification in other NDT methods, such as liquid penetrant, eddy current, magnetic particle, and radiography.
- Ability to work extended or flexible schedules, with a strong willingness to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
