Job Summary

The Prep Cook is a key member of our culinary team at Bluewater Casino & Resort. This role is responsible for assisting in the preparation of all types of food items for our restaurant outlets.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Prepare high-quality, fresh food items using standardized recipes and methods of preparation.
  • Clean and sanitize kitchen areas to maintain a safe and sanitary environment.
  • Adapt to changes in menu preparation and production methods.
  • Maintain kitchen safety and sanitation, as well as care of kitchen equipment.
  • Replenish prep line food items as necessary to ensure proper presentation and availability.
  • Practice proper personal sanitary procedures.
  • Respond to guest preferences and concerns.
  • Ensure proper food storage and serving temperatures.
  • Taste check prepared food items to ensure quality and food safety.
  • Attend events and varied schedules as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external guests.
  • Comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including Arizona State Liquor Laws and Colorado River Indian Tribes Alcohol Beverage Ordinance.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Operate a range of kitchen equipment, including stoves, broilers, and deep fryers.
  • Accurately read food ticket orders.
  • Communicate effectively with co-workers, management, and guests.
  • Read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
  • Work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
  • Perform basic math calculations and understand weight and volume measurements.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Culinary education or experience in a high-volume restaurant or catering facility.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Food Handlers Card and other required compliance trainings.
  • Valid gaming license from the CRIT Tribal Gaming Agency.
  • Ability to adhere to Bluewater Resort & Casino and CDC guidelines for PPE and COVID-19 protocols.
Work Environment

This position works indoors in a fast-paced environment with occasional exposure to fumes and airborne particles. The noise level can be moderate to loud at times.

Accessibility

This role requires limited mobility and may involve standing for long periods.
