The Supply Planner will oversee all facets of demand forecasting for raw materials and finished goods, manage inventory replenishment, and schedule manufacturing operations. This role involves enhancing and managing relevant processes and procedures, including maintaining optimal stock levels, material requirement planning, procurement, and product sequencing within the production workflow.
This position requires collaboration with production and management teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives for existing and new products.
The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in handling high-volume food ingredients, along with strong analytical skills for tracking, reconciling, and analyzing data. A proactive and collaborative individual who approaches problem-solving with a data-driven mindset is essential.
In this fast-paced food processing environment, the Supply Planner must demonstrate exceptional analytical, organizational, time management, project management, and attention to detail skills to achieve the company's production goals. Responsibilities will include hands-on involvement in Demand Planning, Inventory Management, Production Scheduling, Procurement, Logistics Coordination, Forecasting, Cost Analysis, and Budgeting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee Supply & Production Planning; optimize production schedules and coordinate necessary raw materials for established and new product lines.
- Monitor production yields and operational efficiency.
- Manage demand planning for finished products.
- Coordinate logistics for outbound shipments from the production facility to distribution centers or third-party storage.
- Engage frequently with sales, production, logistics, quality assurance, and finance teams in a collaborative manner.
- Create, maintain, and present key performance metrics, reports, and standard operating procedures related to operations and production.
- Focus on continuous improvement in all planning activities and regularly identify cost and time-saving opportunities.
- Manage inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods using ERP inventory management software.
- Build vendor relationships, manage procurement timelines, issue purchase orders, and oversee inbound logistics.
- Conduct weekly reconciliations of invoices and warehouse discrepancies.
- Participate in production planning meetings and present relevant information.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Supply Planning within a Food or Beverage Processing Facility.
- A Bachelor's Degree is preferred, though a combination of experience and education will be considered.
- Experience in new product and packaging development for consumer packaged goods.
- Advanced skills in Purchasing, Cost Analysis, and Budgeting.
- Strong professional communication skills (verbal, interpersonal, and written).
- Exceptional time management, detail orientation, project management, analytical, organizational, and supervisory skills.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook) as well as ERP and accounting systems.
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines and concurrent projects.
- Experience in production planning for various new product lines.
- Strong understanding of Food Quality and Food Safety Guidelines.
- HACCP Certification is preferred.
