Job Description:
L3Harris is actively seeking an Avionics Systems Engineer (SE) to support requirements, design, development, test, and integration of complex, specialized hardware/software systems installed on ground and airborne platforms.
Essential Functions:
Assist in the Design and development of physical architectures incorporating CNS/ATM equipment into airborne systems for military and commercial customers.
Define requirement traceability methods.
Assist in leading the systems engineering trade study processes.
Review trade studies for accuracy and completeness.
Write subsystem specifications based on system level requirements.
Review alternative solutions and help establish the system design.
Review and evaluate technical data package (electrical wiring diagrams, mechanical integration drawings, analysis reports, etc.) to ensure design details trace to system requirements.
Prepare effective presentations to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical professionals.
Qualifications:
Ability to attain a DoD security clearance at the Secret level—an active clearance is highly preferred.
Bachelor's degree in an appropriate engineering discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, Software, Physics, etc.) and a minimum of 6 years related work experience, or
Graduate Degree in an appropriate engineering discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, Software, Physics, etc.) and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience, or
Minimum of 10 years of prior work experience in a directly applicable field.
Must be a US Citizen.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Ability to use standard Microsoft Office suite of applications
Ability to operate within a Product Lifecycle Manager (PLM); TeamCenter preferred
Experience conducting first article verification testing
Excellent written, oral, and presentation communication skills
Experience working with subcontractors and US Government customers.
Experience working successfully both independently and in a team environment with the ability to lead teams through a system development and integration cycle.
