We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Material Handler to join our Warehouse Operations team at Builders FirstSource. As a Material Handler, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth flow of materials and products within our warehouse.
Key Responsibilities- Material Handling: Physically handle materials used to construct components and finished products, ensuring optimal movement and storage.
- Equipment Operation: Safely operate motorized and non-motorized material handling equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Training and Development: Respond to training from supervisors and senior handlers to increase knowledge of work processes and improve skills.
- Safety and Compliance: Understand and observe all safety procedures and practices to prevent injury to yourself and coworkers, attending periodic safety meetings as required.
- Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
- Education: High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
- Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of and ability to use motorized and non-motorized material handling equipment, manual dexterity, knowledge of safety procedures, and ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed instructions.
- Work Environment: Work is performed within a production environment, subject to temperature variations, hazardous chemicals, mechanical parts, increased noise levels, and dust.
- Physical Demands: Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds frequently and on occasion up to 80 pounds, and perform tasks that involve climbing, lifting, pushing, or kneeling.
