Job Summary:

We are seeking a Client Interpreter to provide interpretation services in Spanish for client reception and supporting the volunteer tax preparers at Metropolitan Family Service. The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills, experience working with diverse populations, and the ability to effectively manage and maintain confidential and sensitive information.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide direct support to Spanish speaking clients, assisting with the client screening and intake process to ensure clients understand and are eligible for tax preparation support
* Assist clients in completing required documents and intake information
* Provide support to volunteer tax preparers to ensure information is understood by clients for whom English is a second language and for clients who speak Spanish only
* Provide data entry support as directed

Requirements:

* Ability to read, write and speak fluently in English and Spanish is required
* Experience providing interpretation services is very beneficial
* Possesses excellent customer service skills and experience working with diverse populations
* Ability to effectively manage and maintain confidential and sensitive information

Work Environment:

The Client Interpreter will work in a collaborative classroom/office environment and/or at other locations as deemed necessary. May require occasional early morning, weekend or evening work. Position requires regular use of computer, telephone, fax machine, scanner, copier and may require accessing locations by use of stairs.
