We are seeking a skilled Fabrication Specialist to join our team at Johnson Controls Inc. (Albany Plant). As a Fabrication Specialist, you will play a critical role in the production of custom High Quality, Commercial Air Handlers from sheet metal.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure Quality and Accuracy: Verify that hardware and components match the Bill of Materials (BOM) to ensure accurate and efficient production.
  • Install and Secure Components: Install components securely and ensure proper fit and alignment according to the Spec Sheet to guarantee high-quality products.
  • Prepare Products for Painting and Shipping: Prepare products to be painted and shipped, ensuring they meet the required standards.
  • Identify and Install Proper Parts: Identify the correct parts to complete assemblies by reading specification sheets and blueprints.
  • Operate Equipment and Tools: Utilize rivet guns, air guns, knives, welding equipment, and other hand tools to perform duties.
  • Move Materials and Products: Operate bridge cranes or hoists to move shipments from the shipping and receiving platform to storage or work areas.
  • Maintain Equipment and Facilities: Perform preventative maintenance and make minor machine repairs as needed to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Meet Production Schedules and Safety Standards: Adhere to production schedules, ensuring that all parts are properly fitted, aligned, and secured, and that safety standards are always met.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required; previous experience in an industrial setting preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to read, interpret, and follow blueprints and build plans preferred.
