About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at Oceans Healthcare. As a key member of our multidisciplinary healthcare team, you will provide high-quality nursing care to patients with common, well-defined health problems.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver quality nursing care to assigned patients by collecting data and identifying deviations from normal.
  • Assist with reassessing patients according to assignments, need, and unit protocol, under the direction of a registered nurse.
  • Accurately and thoroughly document all findings in the patient record and identify expected outcomes based on assessment data.
  • Implement nursing care interventions identified in the individualized multidisciplinary treatment plan using accepted standards of practice in collaboration with other healthcare providers.
  • Conduct specified bedside laboratory tests, wound care, and provide for comfort and assistance in the performance of ADLs.
  • Promote the patient's ability to cope, adapt, and/or solve situations related to illness and/or stressors.
  • Provide supportive, age-appropriate communication and culturally acceptable interventions and document special needs.
  • Provide for the safe delivery of medications in accordance with facility policies and physician orders.
Requirements
  • Current, valid, and active license to practice as a Licensed Vocational/Practical Nurse in the state of employment.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • One year of inpatient hospital experience strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work in a high-stress environment and assess potential for patient escalation.
  • Effective communication and leadership skills.
