Licensed Practical Nurse

The Licensed Practical Nurse is a vital member of the healthcare team at North Oaks Medical Center, providing high-quality nursing care to patients in the Observation Unit. This role requires a graduate of an accredited nursing school with a current LA LPN license. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the maintenance of quality patient care, adhering to policy and procedure, and assisting in operational functions. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a professional manner, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure the maintenance of quality patient care through patient data collection, medication administration, and documentation in the patient record.
- Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, including adherence to acceptable dress code and reporting of incidents and injuries.
- Assist in operational functions, such as maintaining inventory and assisting the Unit Coordinator/Director in maintenance of policies and procedures.
- Maintain satisfactory communications with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Participate in professional development activities, including attending committee meetings and in-service programs.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
- Current LA LPN license.
- Membership in an LPN organization is encouraged.
The Licensed Practical Nurse will work in a fast-paced environment with frequent standing, walking, and sitting. The ability to lift occasionally and push/pull occasionally is required.
