Position Summary

Are you a skilled Construction Inspector seeking to elevate your career? Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily inspections and observations on construction sites, ensuring safety and professionalism in all tasks.
  • Accurately document inspection activities, including onsite measurements and calculations related to contractor work.
  • Perform necessary field sampling and testing of construction materials such as asphalt, concrete, soil, and aggregates.
  • Maintain open communication with construction contractors and client representatives.
  • Follow directives from supervisors in executing work assignments.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in inspecting transportation construction projects for the Department of Transportation.
  • Familiarity with Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) Standard Specifications and construction oversight procedures.
  • Completion of INDOT's Certified Technician Program, demonstrating knowledge of quality construction practices.
  • Proficient in using SiteManager for daily work records and material entries.
  • Skilled in field measurement and verification of contractor work, with proficiency in INDOT material sampling and testing procedures.
  • Ability to follow supervisory instructions in field inspection tasks.
  • Willingness to work extended hours, night shifts, and varied schedules.
