The Data Center Electrical Technician plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our data center infrastructure. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and repairing building infrastructure systems, including server containers, cooling equipment, HVAC, electrical systems, and more.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor and maintain electrical systems, including servers, cooling equipment, and HVAC systems.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on electrical equipment and infrastructure.
- Install and maintain door access controls and security cameras.
- Follow established protocols and procedures for setting up equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance on all building equipment.
- Assemble and commission data center equipment.
- Prepare change management forms.
- Ensure compliance with all safety procedures and use of protective equipment.
- Respond promptly to emergency situations, including fires, evacuations, and equipment failures.
- Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to ensure seamless operations.
- 3+ years of experience working with critical data center infrastructure, with a strong focus on electrical systems.
- Trade electrical license or certification acquired through education/training preferred.
- Facilities maintenance certification preferred.
- Knowledge of hardware and servers.
- Understanding of data center environments, including network, electrical, filtration, air conditioning, water cooling, and more.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work on-call at least one weekend day each week and unscheduled overtime as needed.
- Physical stamina to perform inspections, lift heavy objects, and work in an active environment.
