Data Center Operations Engineer

As a Data Center Operations Engineer at General Dynamics Information Technology, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our data centers. Your expertise in managing, maintaining, and troubleshooting technical issues will be essential in providing exceptional customer service and supporting government activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain data center server hardware, including storage blocks, servers, patch panels, switches, routers, and other large-scale networking gear.
- Install and maintain data center server hardware, including storage blocks, servers, patch panels, switches, routers, and other large-scale networking gear.
- Participate in on-call rotation to respond to technical issues during off-hours.
- Participate in disaster recovery mock drills and procedures.
- Provide cleared escort as needed to personnel who require access for maintenance, inspection, and other needs.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 8+ years of experience in working with computer systems and computer networks, specifically with the Linux operating system.
- Ability to do physical work (lift servers, network switches, boxes, etc.).
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with field-based work in POPs and data centers.
- Experience in troubleshooting OS, network equipment, and software.
- Experience troubleshooting hardware or network-related issues using Linux-based tools.
Security Clearance:
TS/SCI with active polygraph.
Location:
On Customer Site - Culpeper, VA.
Salary Range:
$147,495 - $199,553.
