Job Summary:

Cornerstone Defense is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineering Specialist to provide engineering review, coordination, and oversight for operations, maintenance, repair, and construction work. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, with experience in project design or construction efforts, including scheduling, funding, and day-to-day project oversight.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide engineering review, coordination, and oversight for operations, maintenance, repair, and construction work.
  • Oversee and coordinate activities with trade shops, including prioritization of work, review of ongoing projects, and inspection of installed equipment.
  • Manage project design or construction efforts, including scheduling, funding, and day-to-day project oversight.
  • Assist the client's contracting officer and contracting officer's technical representative with acquisition planning, execution, and administration.
  • Prepare and monitor project schedules, provide technical guidance and assistance on contracting and construction issues, and direct design efforts.

Requirements:
  • 10+ years of experience working in a professional environment.
  • 5+ years of experience in a specialized, high-assigned field, including high voltage power, mechanical systems, fire protection, or construction.
  • Experience with the implementation or execution of design documents.
  • Experience reviewing design documentation and identifying deficiencies, inaccuracies, and noncompliance issues with the design intent.
  • Knowledge of Unified Facilities Criteria (UFCs).
  • Ability to evaluate conditions and draft engineering memos that provide sound engineering guidance consistent with industry best practices and all Federal, State, and Local codes.
  • Ability to work with minimal oversight.
  • Ability to review and perform engineering calculations.
  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience managing project design or construction efforts, including schedule, funding, and day-to-day project oversight.
  • Experience with MAXIMO.
  • Experience with new and existing building systems, site surveys, and calculations.
  • Knowledge of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, International Electrical Testing Association, National Electrical Code, and pertinent NFPA publications related to electrical systems.
  • Knowledge of the CAD systems, AutoCAD, or REVIT.
  • Ability to oversee and coordinate activities with the trade shops, including prioritization of work, review of ongoing projects, and inspection of installed equipment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) Registration.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License.
