Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Nurse Referral Liaison to join our team at MedStar Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in coordinating physician referrals and providing exceptional patient care.

About the Role
  • You will work closely with an interdisciplinary team of healthcare providers to facilitate diagnostic testing, consultation, treatment, and follow-up care for patients referred to MedStar facilities.
  • Your primary responsibilities will include obtaining baseline clinical information, working with the interdisciplinary team, promoting MedStar Health's clinical services, and handling referral calls from physicians.
  • You will also monitor patient progress, participate in quality improvement activities, and contribute to the development of clinical guidelines and policies.
Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required, and a Master's degree in Nursing is preferred.
  • 1-2 years of professional nursing experience is required, with previous outpatient/community service and experience in a sub-specialty (e.g., GI, Neurology, Oncology) being highly desirable.
  • You must be a registered nurse with state licensure and/or compact state licensure in the District of Columbia upon hire.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Clinical maturity and experience are essential for this role.
  • You should possess excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team, and effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Problem-solving ability, multitasking, and organizational competency are also crucial for success in this position.
  • Knowledge of hospital operations, community resources, and professional nursing theory and practice are highly valued.
Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is $72,758.40 - $123,260.80 per year. We offer a competitive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
