Position Overview

Role Summary: Under the guidance of the Housekeeping Supervisor, the Environmental Services Technician is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of the Specialty Hospital of Central Jersey. This role involves performing various tasks to uphold the hospital's standards of hygiene, orderliness, and aesthetic appeal, in compliance with all applicable regulations.

Essential Qualifications:

A High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred. Following training, the individual must demonstrate proficiency in the proper use of cleaning agents, equipment, and tools as assigned. A basic understanding of English is advantageous due to interactions with patients and exposure to chemicals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough cleaning of patient rooms after discharge, including washing and replacing soiled curtains, and disinfecting beds, furniture, and surfaces.
  • Regularly empty waste receptacles throughout the facility.
  • Maintain the appearance of hallways and nurses' stations by buffing floors multiple times a week.
  • Perform additional tasks as required.
  • Preferred experience of 3-6 months in a similar role.
  • Physical Requirements: The role requires the ability to exert up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally, up to 50 lbs. frequently, and up to 20 lbs. constantly to move objects.
