Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Architect/Code Analyst to join our dynamic team at Princeton University's Facilities' Office of Capital Projects (OCP). The successful candidate will serve as the Construction Code specialist for the University and be the chief liaison to the State Bureau of Construction Project Review, and University Code representative to Municipalities for all Construction Plan Review and Permit approval matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Liaise with the State Bureau of Construction Project Review and Municipal Construction Offices to ensure compliance with University Construction projects.
  • Expedite Plan Review of University Class 1 Construction Projects by the State Bureau of Construction Project Review.
  • Coordinate with Program and Project Managers to maintain and pass on State and Municipal Construction Code information.
  • Act as a resource to the University Community on Code matters.
  • Provide advice to State and Municipal Construction Officials concerning specific Code questions on University Construction Projects.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, Engineering, Construction Code Compliance, or similar field of study.
  • 5 years construction experience at an institute of higher education, or 10 years' experience in an architectural firm, engineering firm, or government agency with responsibility of enforcing the NJ Uniform Construction Code.
  • Licensed and certified in New Jersey Construction, Fire and Housing Codes.
  • Experience in Codes and Standards, Plan Review, and Inspections.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Licensed New Jersey Architect, Professional Engineer (or ability to obtain a license).
