Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Sales Manager to join our team at Wesco International, Inc. as a key member of our sales leadership team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic direction and leadership to achieve sales and profit goals within multiple locations or a large-scale location with sales revenue above $50M or significant complexities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Administer Sales Plans: Develop and administer sales plans to ensure customer satisfaction, assigned quota attainment, good reference accounts, and highly skilled and motivated staff.
  • Partner with Marketing: Partner with marketing to develop and implement sales marketing programs and initiatives.
  • Determine Annual Sales and Gross Profit Plan: Determine annual sales and gross profit plan by implementing marketing strategies and analyzing trends and results.
  • Establish Sales Objectives: Establish sales objectives by forecasting and developing sales quota for territories.
  • Project Expected Sales Volume and Profit: Project expected sales volume and profit for existing and new product lines and customers.
  • Maintain Sales Volume, Product Mix, and Selling Price: Maintain sales volume, product mix, and selling price by keeping current with market supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators, and competitors.
  • Coordinate Order Service: Coordinate order service by directing account representatives and executives on quotations, proposals, project order management techniques, and customer complaint resolution.
  • Establish and Adjust Billing Margin: Establish and adjust billing margin by monitoring costs, competition, and market conditions and negotiating cost side levels.
  • Manage Sales Staff: Manage sales staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
  • Maintain Sales Staff Results: Maintain sales staff results by coaching employees, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
  • Develop and Maintain Relationships with Top Customers: Develop and maintain relationships with top customers.
  • Maintain Professional and Technical Knowledge: Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and participating in professional societies.
  • Forecast and Communicate Intricate Details: Forecast and communicate intricate details to senior business managers.
  • Interface with Internal Support Departments: Interface with internal support departments to establish positive customer experience.
  • Partner with Suppliers: Partner with suppliers to maintain customer relationships, provide training to staff, and execute marketing programs and initiatives.
  • Partner with Various Internal Departments: Partner with various internal departments to troubleshoot issues such as inventory and operations.
Qualifications
  • Education: High School Degree or Equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree in Sales, Business Administration, Engineering, or relevant field preferred.
  • Experience: Prior professional sales experience in related industry/5+ years; Prior experience with managing a sales team and sales programs/3+ years.
  • Skills: Working knowledge of business and management principles in strategic planning, resource allocation, and coordination of people and resources; Demonstrated understanding and execution of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services, including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Personal Qualities: Strong verbal, written, analytical, persuasion, and interpersonal skills; Ability to exercise teamwork, leadership, and flexibility; Excellent time management and computer skills.
