Position Overview

Electrical Project Manager

The Electrical Project Manager is essential in steering and overseeing the successful delivery of extensive electrical undertakings. This role acts as the primary on-site authority, managing project teams, coordinating operations, and ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and timeline objectives. The Project Manager works closely with General Foremen, contractors, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure project excellence and uphold the company's dedication to outstanding electrical installations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct and oversee the comprehensive operations of large-scale electrical projects, acting as the main on-site authority and liaison.
  • Collaborate with General Foremen, field personnel, contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to guarantee smooth coordination and integration of project tasks.
  • Ensure the safety of all personnel on-site, fostering a culture of safety and adherence to established safety protocols.
  • Formulate and implement project timelines, track progress, and make necessary adjustments to meet project milestones and deadlines.
  • Analyze and interpret project plans, specifications, and blueprints, ensuring precise execution and compliance with project standards.
  • Efficiently allocate resources, equipment, and workforce to maximize project productivity and achieve objectives.
  • Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to General Foremen and field teams, cultivating a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
  • Establish quality control measures, conduct inspections, and ensure work meets established quality benchmarks and client expectations.
  • Manage project budgets and expenditures, monitoring costs and taking proactive steps to control spending.
  • Maintain regular communication with Project Managers, upper management, and stakeholders to provide updates on project status, challenges, and solutions.
  • Resolve conflicts, address issues, and make critical decisions to ensure project success and client satisfaction.
  • Engage in project planning meetings, contributing insights and strategies to enhance effective project execution.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and advancements in electrical construction to continually improve project outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent certification.
  • A minimum of 12 years of experience in the electrical construction sector, with a proven history of managing field teams and projects.
  • Thorough understanding of electrical systems, construction methodologies, codes, and industry regulations.
  • Demonstrated leadership and management capabilities, with the ability to guide, motivate, and empower teams to meet project objectives.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, capable of adapting to evolving project demands.
  • Proficient in reading blueprints, schematics, and construction documents.
  • Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities and complex project logistics.
  • Ability to make sound decisions under pressure and manage competing priorities simultaneously.
  • Experience with project scheduling, budget oversight, and resource management.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to perform a wide range of physical activities, including bending, stooping, crawling, climbing, kneeling, balancing, pushing, pulling, and reaching overhead.
  • Capability to lift objects exceeding 50 lbs, handling substantial electrical equipment and materials such as light fixtures, wires, conduits, junction boxes, motors, and related items.
  • Skilled in working at various heights using tools such as A-Frames, extension ladders, boom lifts, scaffolds, and aerial work platforms.
  • Competence in performing trenching and excavation tasks as required.
  • Strong visual acuity (normal or corrected) and ability to accurately discern and differentiate wire colors.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, approximately 90% of the workday.
  • Proficiency in transporting materials between locations or across different levels.
  • Ability to handle tools above head level for various tasks.
