About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. As a key member of our Campus Development Division, you will play a critical role in delivering innovative and sustainable research facilities that support our mission-critical research.

Responsibilities
  • Lead multidisciplinary project teams on a variety of projects, from simple to highly complex.
  • Mentor early-career engineers and designers, shaping their professional development and ensuring a bright future for our engineering community.
  • Drive the design and execution of groundbreaking facilities that support our research mission.
  • Support operations, maintenance, and commissioning of PNNL Facilities.
Requirements
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Experience in leading technically complex projects, with a skill in coordinating and managing activities of diverse teams.
  • A strong foundation in building mechanical engineering, preferably with 10 years of experience in an architecture and engineering firm.
  • Experience in HVAC, ductwork, plumbing, and Central Utility Plant design.
  • Knowledge of relevant Codes (ASHRAE, ASME, NFPA, SMACNA, IBC, IPC).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
