Job Summary

The Survey Instrument Operator plays a vital role in assisting in the collection of field survey data, operation, and maintenance of survey equipment. This position requires collaboration with the Party Chief to execute survey work and meet schedules assigned by the supervisor.

Responsibilities
  • Operate field equipment, including levels, GPS, and total stations, as well as data collectors.
  • Take field notes of readings and observations, and create sketches.
  • Maintain vehicles and field equipment.
  • Perform field and office calculations and be knowledgeable in principles of staking and marking.
  • Perform other related field and office duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Knowledge of mathematics through algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
  • General knowledge of surveying equipment, practices, and principles.
  • Basic knowledge of survey theory, including slope reduction and differential leveling.
  • Great attitude and a desire to grow professionally.
