Job Description

Overview of the Role

The Online Product Listing Specialist is responsible for creating detailed listings for merchandise sold through digital platforms, ensuring adherence to departmental standards and achieving daily productivity and revenue targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate each product to identify essential characteristics and imperfections.
  • Capture high-quality images of each item to effectively showcase all relevant details to potential customers.
  • Compose clear and succinct product descriptions that convey all vital information to prospective buyers.
  • Conduct product research as necessary prior to listing.
  • Utilize proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation in all item descriptions.
  • Assign each product to the appropriate inventory location.
  • Achieve departmental listing production targets.
  • Build a personal knowledge base of products to minimize the need for extensive research.
  • Perform research as required to create accurate and comprehensive product descriptions.
  • Maintain established quality standards for item descriptions and photography.
  • Respond promptly to customer inquiries as needed.
  • Participate in cross-training for various store operations and provide assistance in other areas as required.
  • Adhere to a work schedule determined by the supervisor, including availability on weekends and holidays as necessary.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to all donors and customers.
  • Exhibit a professional demeanor at all times.
  • Ensure a clean, safe, and organized workspace, including the production area.
  • Maintain a professional appearance in accordance with the established dress code.
  • Comply with all organizational policies, including reporting any theft or misuse of company property or other illegal activities.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position does not entail supervisory responsibilities.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a warehouse setting is preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks to meet daily production goals.
  • Typing speed of 35 words per minute or higher.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and understanding English, as well as following instructions.
  • Capability to develop a personal knowledge base of products.
  • Prior experience in eCommerce or online sales is preferred.
  • Experience in the thrift industry is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with online research for identifying collectibles is preferred.
  • Experience in digital photography is a plus.
  • Proficient with Windows PC and operating systems.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment.
  • Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, bend, and twist for extended periods.
  • Frequent exposure to airborne particles while performing job duties.
