Job Overview:

At Walker Products, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Safety Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a pivotal role in promoting and maintaining a safe working environment for all employees.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. You will collaborate with department heads to identify and address specific safety needs within different areas of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Safety Program Development:

  • Develop and implement safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Collaborate with department heads to identify and address specific safety needs.

Training and Education:

  • Conduct regular safety training sessions for employees, focusing on hazard identification, emergency response procedures, and the proper use of safety equipment.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and communicate relevant information to employees.

Incident Investigation:

  • Lead and coordinate investigations of workplace incidents, accidents, and near misses.
  • Identify root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Safety Inspections and Audits:

  • Conduct routine safety inspections and audits of facilities, equipment, and processes.
  • Identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.

Emergency Preparedness:

  • Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures.
  • Conduct drills and exercises to ensure employee readiness to respond to emergencies.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of safety-related activities.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports to management on safety performance and compliance.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Safety Coordinator or similar role, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
