Job Summary:

As a Registered Respiratory Therapist, you will play a crucial role in delivering life-saving therapies and monitoring for patients with respiratory conditions. You will work under the guidance of the Respiratory Therapy Supervisor to assist patients of all ages in managing acute and chronic respiratory illnesses, facilitating their return to a productive lifestyle through education and therapeutic interventions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and collaborate with healthcare teams to develop effective care plans.
  • Delegate appropriate patient care tasks to support staff, ensuring clear communication and guidance.
  • Engage in effective communication with colleagues and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care.
  • Uphold high standards of clinical excellence in accordance with departmental policies.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in various clinical specialties and equipment, ensuring competency in special procedures.
  • Administer prescribed therapeutic modalities and medications, ensuring patient safety and maximum benefit.
  • Monitor and manage medical gases as per physician orders, utilizing appropriate delivery devices.
  • Evaluate patients' pulmonary status and communicate findings to physicians, recommending suitable therapies.
  • Participate in cardiopulmonary resuscitation efforts, assessing patient responses to interventions.
  • Perform blood sample collection and analysis, documenting and communicating results as necessary.
  • Carry out specific duties related to equipment maintenance and testing as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapist Program.
  • Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy preferred; minimum Associate of Science Degree required.
  • Recent graduates or those with two years of experience in a tertiary hospital setting are encouraged to apply.
  • Current Respiratory Therapist License in the state of practice.
  • Successful completion of the National Board of Respiratory Care registration examination.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credentials.
  • BLS certification from AHA required prior to employment.
